hi there i did not find search functionality so i decided to create a new topic. my question is, whats the point of using nette when most of your work is ported from Symfony2?

i mean all this bundles are directly or indirectly integrated in S2 (S2 standard edition): Translation Console Validator Doctrine DoctrineCache DoctrineMigrations Events Annotations Monolog

by porting the code (even though its separate projects, main contributors are grouped around S2) to nette you introduce another layer where it can get out of date. i understand that nette community want to enjoy the S2 goodies, but by looking at the number of projects, i question the ability of nette to compare with S2.

I simply like Nette more than Symfony :)

I wouldn't use the word porting, because I'm mostly doing integrations. Or you may say, “bundles for Nette”.

I've always been using Nette and creating “bundles” that integrate useful libraries for it is just a logical step for me.

Yeah, and you know what? http://phalconphp.com/en/ has them too. Laravel has them too. Yii has them too. Cake has them too. Why not use them, then?

That's not entirely true. Because I mostly make integrations and only sometimes I add a bit of awesome to them. I could say the same thing about bundles. How come they don't get out of date?

i question the ability of nette to compare with S2

I don't really care, because most of the bundles around S2 is shit.

There are only about two or three features that S2 has better than Nette and they're not worth the switch for me.

Hi miroslav. Are you wondering between choice of framework among Nette and Symfony and looking for arguments?

Or do you imply something else?
